HOLMES, LEARY EARN CACC WINTER ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM HONORS

Caldwell College senior women's basketball players Phylicia Holmes
(Roselle, NJ/Roselle) and Dana Leary
(Bridgewater, NJ/Immaculata) were included on the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference All-Academic Team for the 2007-08 winter athletic season, the
conference announced today. This is the third time on the CACC All-Academic
team for both Holmes and Leary. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore
and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 to be included on
the All-Academic team. (more)
CALDWELL COLLEGE TO HOST "THINK PINK" DAY FEB. 27
Feb. 25, 2008 - The Caldwell College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host “Think Pink” Day on Wednesday, Feb. 27, as a part of a national breast cancer awareness program initiated by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. The Cougar basketball teams will play Nyack College in the George R. Newman Center, with the women’s game starting at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children, with proceeds and any additional donations going to the Breast Cancer Fund and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. CALDWELL TO HOST BASKETBALL ALUMNI DAY FEB. 2

The Caldwell College men's and women's basketball teams, along with Cougar
Pride, are hosting Basketball Alumni Day on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the George
R. Newman Center. Former players from both men's and women's teams will be
playing in alumni games to highlight a fun and enjoyable day for the whole
family. Additionally, Cougar Pride, the official booster club of Caldwell
College Athletics, is hosting a reception for alumni, parents,
faculty and staff that will be held before the current Cougars' basketball
teams host Felician College in a doubleheader. (more)
11 CALDWELL STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN CACC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM HONORS

Eleven Caldwell College student-athletes were included on the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team for the
2007 fall athletic season. A total of 108 student-athletes among the 13
conference schools were named to the All-Academic Team, which requires a
cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher to receive the honor. (more)
CORINO, CIMINO SPEAK AT LOCAL KIWANIS CLUB
Jan. 18, 2008 - Caldwell College Executive Director of Athletics Mark A. Corino, along with Assistant Director of Athletics Linda Cimino, were invited to speak at a Kiwanis Club of Caldwell/West Essex meeting on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Women's Club of Caldwell. Corino and Cimino both spoke about the recent community service activities of the Caldwell College Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), and discussed partnering with the Kiwanis Club for future events. CALDWELL COLLEGE OBTAINS NCAA SPEAKER'S GRANT
Jan. 15, 2008 - Caldwell College’s Executive Director of Athletics, Mark A. Corino, has announced that the school has obtained a Speaker’s Grant from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for the purpose of a drug education-wellness program. The program, which will be held on Monday, Jan. 28 at both noon and 7:00 p.m. in the school’s Alumni Theatre, will focus specifically on “The Four Stages of Drinking” and will be delivered by Mike Green, an NCAA approved speaker on this topic and President of Collegiate Consultants on Drugs and Alcohol. CACC ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH PENN ATLANTIC TO VIDEO STREAM BASKETBALL GAMES

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) is pleased to announce a
partnership with Penn Atlantic, Inc., to video stream live basketball games
on the world-wide-web this season. This partnership will allow fans to watch
and listen to live games from the comfort of their home for a small fee.
Caldwell College, which has broadcast the past two men's and women's
basketball doubleheaders, will be broadcasting the remaining home games for
both teams this season. (more)

College basketball teams live on the internet. The CACC has partnered with Penn Atlantic to provide live
streaming video of men's and women's basketball games this season. After
creating an account at
www.pennatlantic.com, viewers may order games for $5.99 and will need
only a high speed DSL or cable internet connection, and Windows Media Player
or any other player capable of playing streaming Windows video. It is
recommended that fans sign up for an account well before the start of the
games.
COUGARS LEND HELPING HAND ON HALLOWEEN
Nov. 2, 2007 - Several Caldwell College student-athletes helped some local trick-or-treaters celebrate Halloween by passing out candy on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell, N.J., yesterday. Assistant Director of Athletics Linda Cimino, who coordinates Caldwell College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and Rebecca Naylor, President of the Residents Council, worked with Ann Dassing of the Caldwell Merchants Association to provide students to hand out treats in front of three shops in downtown Caldwell. Oct. 10, 2007 - Caldwell College’s Executive Director of Athletics, Mark A. CALDWELL JOINS NCAA'S CHAMPS/LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
Sept. 20, 2007 - The Caldwell College athletic department has been selected for the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills Program, the NCAA announced. The CHAMPS/Life Skills Program assists NCAA member institutions with the overall development of their student-athletes. Caldwell College is one of 39 institutions and conference offices that have been selected into the CHAMPS/Life Skills Class of 2008. The program now includes 584 campuses and conference offices nationwide. (more)
MARCY REDA RECEIVES CACC SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD

20, 2007 - Caldwell College women's soccer player Marcy Reda
(Phillipsburg, NJ/Bethlehem Academy) was awarded the Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference Sportsmanship Award, CACC Commissioner Dan Mara
announced Tuesday. Reda, a four-year starter on the Cougars' soccer team,
and Holy Family's Chris Drissel are the CACC's nominations for the 2007 NCAA
Male and Female Sportsmanship Awards and will appear on the national ballot. (more)
CALDWELL PLACES EIGHT STUDENT-ATHLETES ON CACC ALL-ACADEMIC SPRING TEAM

spring athletic season, the conference announced today. A total of 69 student-athletes from all 12 CACC
member schools in the four championship sports were named to the All-Academic Team, which requires a
cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. Student-athletes also

ARMSTRONG JOINS CALDWELL STAFF AS ATHLETIC TRAINER
May 30, 2007 - The Caldwell College Athletic Department announces the hiring of Eric Armstrong as athletic trainer. Armstrong joins Diane Froehlich as athletic trainers for Caldwell's 11 intercollegiate athletics programs, which compete in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at the NCAA Division II level. CALDWELL BASKETBALL ALUMNI GAMES SET FOR FEB. 10
Feb.
7, 2007 - Come out to the George R. Newman Center on Saturday, Feb. 10
to watch some of Caldwell College's former basketball stars play in the
men's and women's basketball alumni games. Players from some of Caldwell's
championship teams will be participating while reconnecting with former
teammates, coaches and friends from their time at Caldwell College. In
addition to the games, there will be a reception open to alumni, parents,
faculty and staff that will be held before the current Cougars' basketball
teams host Holy Family University in a doubleheader. (more)

DURNIEN-AMATO RESIGNS POSTS AT CALDWELL
Apr. 20, 2006 - Nicole Durnien-Amato has announced her resignation as assistant director of athletics and head women's basketball coach, effective May 11, 2006. Durnien-Amato, who also served as the athletic department's Senior Women's Administrator, has been at Caldwell since 1999 and was the Cougars' women's basketball coach for six seasons, compiling a record of 91-79. She is leaving Caldwell College to pursue other opportunities. (more)

basketball players Mark Kelly (Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Twp), Adam Sabree
(Detroit, MI/Renaissance) and Hans Stelzer (Seldon, NY/Our Savior), and
women's basketball players Shannon Coyle (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney)
and Dana Leary (Bridgewater, NJ/Immaculata). Student-athletes must be

46 STUDENT-ATHLETES MAKE DEAN'S LIST FOR FALL SEMESTER
Feb.
23, 2006 - The mission statement for the Caldwell College Athletic
Department includes the phrase "Excellence in academics and athletics."
Forty-six student-athletes, representing more than a third of all
student-athletes at Caldwell College, are shining examples of that statement,
as they were named to the Dean's List for the 2005 fall semester. Making the
Dean's List is no small feat for any student, as it requires a grade-point
average of 3.5 or higher. But when you factor in practices, games, travel and
other commitments that are demanded of student-athletes, the achievement is
that much more remarkable. All 10 of Caldwell College's intercollegiate sports
are represented on the Dean's List. (more)

HIGH SCHOOL GAME TO FOLLOW SATURDAY'S COUGARS DOUBLEHEADER
Jan. 19, 2006 - A high school boys' basketball game between Rutherford and St. Joseph of the Palisades will be played immediately following a college basketball doubleheader between Caldwell College and Goldey-Beacom College this Saturday, Jan. 21, in the George R. Newman Center. The women's game kicks things off at 1:00 p.m., with the men's game at 3:00 p.m. The high school game, which is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m., features a match-up between former Caldwell standouts Brian Gaccione, who coaches Rutherford, and Damian Kennedy, who coaches St. Joseph. Both players served as team captains at Caldwell College under Cougars' head coach Mark Corino. (more)

Oct. 12, 2005 - Caldwell College’s Sandy Rock, Director of Substance Awareness Counseling, working closely with Mark Corino, Executive Director of Athletics and Nicole Durnien-Amato, Assistant Director of Athletics, has acquired a $1,000 Speaker’s Grant from the NCAA for the purpose of a drug education-wellness program. CALDWELL ADDS ASSISTANT SOCCER COACHES
Aug. 24, 2005 - Caldwell College Executive Director of Athletics Mark A. Corino has hired two assistant coaches for the Cougar soccer programs. Bevin Walsh, a 2001 graduate of Caldwell College, returns to her alma mater to assist first-year head coach Steve O'Neal with the women's soccer team, and Matt McLagan joins the staff of men's soccer coach Jamie Nash. Feb. 25, 2005 - The semifinals and finals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments will be held at the George R. Newman Center on the campus of Caldwell College on Friday, Mar. 4 and Saturday, Mar. 5. For the first time, the winner of the CACC Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II national tournament. (more)
