9-4-08
CALDWELL, N.J. – Twenty-two Caldwell College student-athletes were among the inaugural recipients of the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Awards presented by WeatherPORT. The Academic Achievement Awards program recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level.

In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, have completed a minimum of two years of college level work, and have played an intercollegiate sport during the past year. Caldwell College was one of 67 institutions that participated in the 2007-08 awards program, which honored 2,155 Division II student-athletes.

“We are pleased to have so many of our student-athletes qualify for such a prestigious award, and I congratulate them,” said Mark A. Corino, Caldwell's Executive Director of Athletics. "We are fortunate to have a number of outstanding student-athletes, and the support they receive from our faculty, administration and coaches helps them succeed. It is another example of Caldwell College's commitment to excellence in academics and athletics."
