ANDREW FRASER NAMED OUTSTANDING STUDENT-ATHLETE BY CAANJ

N.J. – Former Caldwell College men's soccer standout Andrew Fraser
(Kingston, Jamaica/Wolmer's) was chosen the Outstanding Student-Athlete for
the 2007-08 academic year by the Collegiate Athletic Administrators of New
Jersey. Fraser received his award, which includes all NCAA Division I and II
institutions in the state of New Jersey, at the CAANJ's Fall Meeting in
Somerset, N.J., on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Fraser graduated from Caldwell College
this past spring with a degree in accounting. He earned a spot on the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team as a sophomore,
junior and senior for posting a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or
higher. He also was chosen to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
first team as a senior. A standout central defender for the Caldwell College
men’s soccer team, Fraser was a four-time all-CACC honoree. He also was
selected to the all-New England Region team three times in his stellar
career. As a dominating defender and team leader, Andrew led the Cougars to
47 victories in his four seasons, the most wins in any four-year period in
the history of the program. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Andrew currently
works as an accountant at Kostka Taylor. This past spring he played for the
New Jersey Rangers of the United Soccer League's Premier Development League.
John Simone, the Assistant Dean of Athletics and Student Services at Mercer
County College and the President of the CAANJ, presented the Outstanding
Student-Athlete Award to Fraser. Awards were bestowed upon one male and one
female student-athlete in the Junior College Division, Division III and
Division I and II combined. Caldwell College Associate Director of Athletics
Dean Johnson and head men's soccer coach Jamie Nash also were
in attendance.
