KELLY, MURRAY NAMED TO
CACC ALL-ACADEMIC SQUADS

N.J. – Junior Mark Kelly (Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Twp) and sophomore Jenn
Murray (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) were selected to the Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference All-Academic teams for men's and women's basketball,
respectively, the conference announced today. Student-athletes must be at
least a sophomore and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50
to be included on the All-Academic teams.
Kelly, a 6-1 guard who has played in 51 games for the Cougars over the past
two years, has a 3.73 GPA in math education. This past season, Kelly was
Caldwell's leading three-point shooter, making 44.2 percent (34-of-77) from
beyond the arc to rank second in the CACC. He averaged 7.1 points and 2.4
rebounds per game despite missing seven games with an injury.
Murray,
a 5-9 guard who has played in 54 of the Cougars' 55 games the past two
seasons, maintains a 3.55 GPA in elementary education. She averaged 9.8 points
and 6.1 rebounds per game to rank second on the team in both categories.
Murray also hit 81.0 percent of her attempts from the free throw line to rank
fourth in the CACC.
The CACC has bestowed All-Academic status on 114 student-athletes from all 12
member schools in eight sports thus far in the 2004-05 academic year. Nine
Caldwell student-athletes earned CACC All-Academic honors this past fall.
