CALDWELL PLACES EIGHT STUDENT-ATHLETES ON CACC ALL-ACADEMIC SPRING TEAM
6-14-07
CALDWELL, N.J. – Eight Caldwell College student-athletes earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic
honors for the 2007
spring athletic season, the conference announced today. A total of 69 student-athletes from all 12 CACC
member schools in the four championship sports were named to the All-Academic Team, which requires a
cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. Student-athletes also
must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically to be considered.
Senior softball player Stacy Falkowski (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) and
senior golfer Bard Skjelstad (Bodo, Norway) have earned CACC
All-Academic Team honors all three years in which they were eligible.
Skjelstad, who also played soccer at Caldwell, made the fall All-Academic
squad three times as well, making him the first Caldwell College
student-athlete to be named to the CACC All-Academic Team six times. Junior
softball players Nicole Bodrog (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and
Stephanie Brodo (Belleville, NJ/St. Mary's) are repeat selections,
having made the All-Academic Team in the spring of 2006.
Men's tennis players Jan Marco Jiras (Lima, Peru) and Chris Laciura
(Teaneck, NJ/Paramus Catholic) also met the academic requirements for the CACC
All-Academic squad but were not included on the team, as the conference does
not award a championship in men's tennis.
This is the third year the CACC has named All-Academic Teams for each sports
season. Caldwell College placed 21
student-athletes on the fall All-Academic squads and four on the winter
All-Academic teams during the 2006-07 academic year.
