6-16-08
CALDWELL, N.J. – Seven
Caldwell College student-athletes earned Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference All-Academic honors for the 2008 spring athletic season, the
conference announced. A total of 72 student-athletes from 12 of the 13 CACC
member schools in the four championship sports were named to the
All-Academic Team, which requires a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50
or higher. Student-athletes also must be at least a sophomore academically
and athletically to be eligible.
Senior softball players Nicole Bodrog (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and
Stephanie Brodo (Belleville, NJ/St. Mary's) have earned CACC
All-Academic Team honors all three years in which they were eligible. Senior
Carrie Flasphaler (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) and juniors Cecilia
Goforth (Houston, TX/St. Agnes Acad.) and Jorge Torres (Coral
Springs, FL/Taravella) are repeat selections, having made the All-Academic
Team in the spring of 2007.
Men's tennis player Jan Marco Jiras (Lima, Peru) also met the
academic requirements for the CACC All-Academic squad but was not included
on the team, as the conference does not award a championship in men's
tennis.
During the 2007-08 academic year, Caldwell College had a total of 20
student-athletes named to the All-Academic teams by the CACC, which names an
All-Academic Team for the fall, winter and spring sports seasons.
