CALDWELL, N.J. – Four Caldwell College student-athletes were named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team for the 2006-07 winter athletic season, the conference announced today. Caldwell's honorees include men's basketball player Adam Sabree (Detroit, MI/Renaissance) and women's basketball players Shannon Coyle (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney), Phylicia Holmes (Roselle, NJ/Roselle) and Dana Leary (Bridgewater, NJ/Immaculata). Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 to be included on the All-Academic team.

This is the second appearance on the CACC Winter All-Academic Team for Sabree and Leary, who both earned the honor after the 2005-06 season. Holmes was included on the All-Academic squad this past fall after playing for the Cougar volleyball team. For Coyle, who is also a member of Caldwell's cross country team, this is the fourth CACC All-Academic Team honor. Coyle made the fall All-Academic Team in 2005 and 2006 as well as last winter's team.

Sabree, a 6-4 junior guard, averaged 4.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game while playing in 28 games for the conference-champion Cougars this past season. A marketing major at the College, Sabree started 22 games in 2006-07 and has scored 353 points in 91 games during his three years at Caldwell.

Coyle, a 5-5 senior guard, started 26 of Caldwell's 27 games this past season and led the Cougars in assists with 3.6 per game. She also averaged 9.2 points per contest while making a team-best 50 three-pointers. An education major at Caldwell, Coyle finished her three-year career having made 146 threes to rank second all-time at Caldwell.

Holmes, a 5-8 junior guard, ranked second on the team in rebounding with 6.9 boards per game in 2006-07. She also averaged a career-best 7.6 points per game while starting 18 of 27 games for the Cougars.

Leary, a 5-7 junior guard, recorded 9.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest this past winter. A psychology major, Leary has started 77 of her 82 games at Caldwell and has scored 781 points in three seasons.

The CACC has bestowed All-Academic status on 149 student-athletes from all 12 member schools in eight sports thus far in the 2006-07 academic year. Twenty-one Caldwell student-athletes earned CACC All-Academic honors this past fall.
