ISHIKAWA JOINS ATHLETIC TRAINING STAFF AT CALDWELL COLLEGE

CALDWELL,
N.J. – Saori Ishikawa has been named an athletic trainer for
the Caldwell College Athletic Department, the College announced today.
Ishikawa comes to Caldwell from Bridgewater (Mass.) State College, where she
was a graduate assistant the past two years.
A native of Tokyo, Japan, Ishikawa earned a Masters of Science degree in
Athletic Training from Bridgewater State this spring. While at Bridgewater
State, she was the trainer for women's soccer, women's basketball,
wrestling, baseball and women's lacrosse. Additionally, Ishikawa provided
athletic training support at Taunton High School. Recently, Ishikawa had
internships at International Gymnastics Camp in Stroudsburg, Penn., and with
a professional rugby team in Japan. In April of 2007, she assisted the
medical staff as a volunteer at the Boston Marathon. She holds a National
Athletic Trainers' Association athletic trainer certification and is a
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Ishikawa is not unfamiliar with New Jersey, as she graduated from Paramus
High School before returning to Japan to attend the University of Tsukuba.
She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Physical Education
from Tsukuba in 2005.
"We are pleased to have Saori join our staff and we welcome her to Caldwell
College," said Mark A. Corino, Executive Director of Athletics. "She
is well-educated in the areas of athletic training, and she has a great
attitude. We are looking forward to working with her."
Caldwell College has 11 intercollegiate athletic programs that compete at
the NCAA Division II level in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
