CHUNN, KOLESAR RECEIVE CACC WEEKLY AWARDS

N.J. - Sophomore shortstop Andy Chunn (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen)
and senior right-hander Mike Kolesar (New
City, NY/Clarkstown North) were named the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference's Player and Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 1,
the conference announced. Chunn and Kolesar helped the Caldwell
College baseball team to a 4-1 record during the week.
Chunn batted .667 (8-for-12) with six runs scored and eight runs
batted in in four games last week. He went 3-for-3 with a double,
three RBI and three runs scored in the Cougars' 11-1 victory over
conference-leading N.J.I.T. on Apr. 28. Chunn had three games with two
or more hits and two or more RBI. Chunn has been swinging a hot bat
lately, raising his batting average 103 points to .349 during a
nine-game hitting streak.
Kolesar
(3-4) went the distance in the win over N.J.I.T., striking out a
season-high 13 batters while allowing one run and five hits. In two
starts against the Highlanders this season, he has fanned 24 batters
while giving up seven hits and one run in 16.0 innings. Kolesar, a
first-team all-Northeast Region and all-CACC selection a year ago,
also went 7-of-17 (.412) with six runs scored and four RBI at the
plate in four games last week.
The Cougars (20-18 overall, 12-7 CACC) return to action on Tuesday,
May 3, when they host Felician College in a CACC doubleheader. The
first game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. at Smith Field. Back
