PFEIL NAMED TO NJCBA ALL-ROOKIE TEAM

N.J. - Caldwell College freshman pitcher Stephen Pfeil
(Hampstead, NH/Pinherton Academy) was chosen to the New Jersey
Collegiate Baseball Association all-Rookie Team, the organization
announced. Pfeil led the Cougars in wins, earned run average and
innings pitched in his first collegiate season.
Pfeil made the all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference second team
after going 5-5 with an ERA of 3.98. An effective control pitcher,
Pfeil walked just 13 batters while striking out 50 in 63 1/3 innings.
He also was successful against CACC opponents, turning in a conference
mark of 5-2 while earning complete-game victories over Nyack College,
Post University and Dominican College. A two-time CACC Rookie of the
Week, Pfeil also garnered NJCBA Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors on
Apr. 6.
The Cougars, coached by Chris Reardon, were 18-25 in 2006,
including an 11-14 mark in CACC play.
