TORRES RECEIVES SECOND CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman outfielder Jorge Torres (Coral Springs, FL/Taravella) was chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced today. Torres hit .375 with four runs in three games during the week ending Apr. 9.

Torres, who also was named the CACC Rookie of the Week on Mar. 13, scored a pair of runs each in a 9-4 win over the University of Sciences on Apr. 6 and in the second game of a doubleheader at Wilmington College on Apr. 9. He also hit a double in the first game against Wilmington. Torres is batting .310 and leads the Cougars in runs with 16 in his first collegiate season.

Torres and the Cougars are scheduled to play at Felician College today at 3:00 p.m. They will host C.W. Post in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Apr. 11, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Smith Field.
