COUGAR BASEBALL RANKED 10TH IN NCBWA NORTHEAST REGION POLL

CALDWELL, N.J. - After a one-week hiatus, the Caldwell College baseball team
returned to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Northeast Regional Poll,
released today. The Cougars, who are
11-6 on the season, received six points to rank 10th, marking the
fourth time this season that Caldwell has appeared in the top 10. Franklin Pierce
College received five first-place votes to remain atop the poll with
50 points.
Caldwell, coached by Chris Reardon, won a pair of Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference games last week, defeating Felician
College 14-6 on Apr. 3 and topping Post University 11-5 on Apr. 5.
This week the Cougars will play eighth-ranked Dominican College in
an important CACC and regional game on Apr. 11 in Orangeburg, N.Y.
Caldwell and Dominican are tied atop the conference standings with
3-1 records.
In previous NCBWA Northeast Region polls, the Cougars ranked fourth
on Mar. 12, 10th on Mar. 19 and ninth on Mar. 26.
The Cougars host Nyack College in a CACC match-up originally scheduled
for Mar. 28. The game
starts at 7:00 p.m. at Smith Field.
