CASAL NAMED CACC CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman pitcher Robert Casal (Howard Beach, NY/St. Francis Prep) was selected the baseball co-Rookie of the Week by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the league announced today. Casal is the second Cougar to receive conference's weekly award for newcomers, joining freshman Adric Saxon (Coral Springs, FL/Broward CC).

In the Cougars' 15-2 win at Lincoln Memorial University on Mar. 18, Casal went the distance, giving up nine hits and two runs in seven innings of work to improve to 2-0. He also pitched two scoreless innings of relief at Dowling College on Mar. 15, striking out four.

Casal and the Cougars continue their Tennessee trip with a doubleheader at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn., on Tuesday, Mar. 20.
