SAXON SELECTED CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

N.J. - Caldwell College freshman outfielder Adric Saxon (Coral Springs,
FL/Broward CC) was named the Rookie of the Week by the Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference for the week ending May 13, the
league announced today. Saxon, who was chosen CACC Rookie of the
Year, has received the league's weekly rookie award three times this
season.
Saxon had an outstanding CACC Tournament last week, batting .533
with eight hits, five runs, seven runs batted in, two doubles and a
triple to help the Cougars advance to the finals before falling to
Wilmington College. Also a first team all-CACC selection, Saxon had
three hits apiece against Dominican in the first round and in the
final against Wilmington. He drove in five runs with a double and a
triple against the Chargers. Including last week's games, Saxon is
batting .373 with 13 home runs and 60 RBIs in his first season at
Caldwell.
Saxon and the Cougars begin play in the NCAA Division II Northeast
Region Tournament on Thursday, May 17 against UMass-Lowell. The game
is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. on the campus of Franklin Pierce
College in Rindge, N.H.
