COUGARS RANKED FIFTH IN NCBWA BASEBALL REGIONAL POLL

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College baseball team is ranked fifth in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Northeast Regional Poll, released today. The Cougars, who were fourth in last week's poll, received 46 points this week, while Franklin Pierce University received all nine first-place votes to remain atop the poll.

Caldwell went 0-5 against top competition in Tennessee last week, losing doubleheaders to Tusculum College and Carson-Newman College and dropping a single game to Lincoln Memorial University. Senior Tommy Murphy (Monroe, NY/Washingtonville), pictured, batted .333 on the trip and extended his hitting streak to seven games.

This week the Cougars begin conference play with a game at Post University on Tuesday, Mar. 25. They open up their home schedule on Thursday, Mar. 27 against Felician College at Smith Field in Parsippany, N.J.
