CALDWELL BASEBALL REMAINS FOURTH IN NCBWA NORTHEAST REGION POLL

CALDWELL, N.J. - For the second straight week, the Caldwell College baseball team is ranked fourth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Northeast Regional Poll, released today. The Cougars, who went 6-1 last week to improve to 14-10 on the season, received 65 points this week. Franklin Pierce University stayed at No. 1 after getting all nine first-place votes.

The Cougars improved to 8-3 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference after sweeping doubleheaders with Nyack and Chestnut Hill, defeating Dominican in a nine-inning game and splitting a doubleheader with Post. Junior pitcher Stephen Pfeil (Hampstead, NH/Pinherton Acad.) allowed just one run in two complete-game victories, including a one-hit shutout against Nyack on Apr. 1.

This week the Cougars play six CACC contests, beginning with a make-up game against Chestnut Hill on Monday, Apr. 7 at Smith Field.
