CASAL RECEIVES CACC PITCHER OF THE WEEK HONORS

N.J. - Caldwell College sophomore pitcher Robert Casal (Howard
Beach, NY/St. Francis) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
Pitcher of the Week
for the week ending Mar. 16, the league announced today. Casal has
started the 2008 season with a 2-1 record after going 10-1 as a
freshman last year.
Last week, Casal struck out 11 batters while allowing three hits and
an unearned run in a 4-1 victory at Queens on Mar. 12. The win was
his second in a row and lowered his earned run average to 1.17 for
the season. Last year, Casal was named to the all-CACC first team
and all-Northeast Region second team while being chosen an ECAC
All-Star.
Casal and the Cougars play six games in Tennessee on Mar. 16-20.
