PFEIL CHOSEN CACC CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CALDWELL,
N.J. - Caldwell College junior Stephen Pfeil (Hampstead,
NH/Pinherton Acad.) was selected the CACC co-Pitcher of the Week for the week ending
May 4, the
conference announced today. Pfeil pitched a nine-inning shutout
against Bloomfield College in his start last week, as the Cougars
finished the regular season with a 29-17 record.
Pfeil allowed just four hits in nine innings of work on Friday, May 2,
striking out 10 batters while walking only one against the Deacons
in Bloomfield, N.J. The victory was his second shutout of the season
and evened his record at 4-4. Pfeil leads the team with an
earned-run average of 1.62 and has 83 strikeouts in 72 innings
pitched. This is the second CACC Pitcher of the Week honor for Pfeil,
who also earned ECAC co-Pitcher of the Week accolades for the week
ending Apr. 6.
Pfeil and the Cougars, who set a program record with 29 wins this
season, will play in the CACC Tournament this week, starting
Thursday, May 8 in Wilmington, Del.
