PFEIL NAMED ECAC CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CALDWELL,
N.J. - Caldwell College junior Stephen Pfeil (Hampstead,
NH/Pinherton Acad.) was selected the ECAC co-Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Apr. 6, the
organization announced. Pfeil, who also received Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week honors on Apr. 7, won both
of his starts in dominating fashion to help the Cougars go 6-1 last
week.
Pfeil tossed a pair of complete-game gems, going 2-0 with an earned
run average of 0.64 in two starts last week. On Apr. 1, he pitched
a one-hit shutout of Nyack in a 1-0 victory, striking out 11 and
walking four in seven innings. Then on Apr. 6, he held Post
University to one run on seven hits in seven innings of work in a
7-1 Caldwell win. In the two games combined, Pfeil tallied 19
strikeouts while walking six in 14 innings. He is 3-2 with an ERA of
1.49 on the season.
The ECAC's membership includes 320 colleges and universities from Maine to
Georgia and westerly to Illinois. Caldwell
student-athletes have received weekly and year-end honors from the ECAC
since joining the organization in 2004, and
the men's and women's soccer teams and men's and women's basketball teams have competed
in ECAC championship tournaments.
The Cougars, who are 16-12 overall and 10-5 in the conference, play
a CACC doubleheader at Philadelphia University on Saturday, Apr. 12. The first pitch is set
for 12:00 p.m.
