SAXON RECEIVES CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College sophomore outfielder Adric Saxon (Coral Springs, FL/Broward CC) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending Apr. 20, the league announced today. Saxon led the Cougars to a 5-1 week that included a pair of 15-run outbursts.

Saxon batted .478 with three home runs, a double, six runs and eleven runs batted in last week. He started out the week with a three-run home run and an RBI single in a 15-3 victory over C.W. Post on Apr. 14. Saxon then ended the week with a bang, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, four runs scored and four RBIs in a 15-0 win over Wilmington that completed a doubleheader sweep on Apr. 19. He also had a pair of hits each in a 10-4 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Apr. 16 and in a 7-2 victory over Wilmington in the first game of the twinbill. 

For the season, Adric is batting .336 with 12 doubles, eight home runs and 32 RBIs to help the Cougars post a 22-14 overall record, including a 14-7 mark in the CACC.

Saxon and the Cougars take on Molloy College on Tuesday, Apr. 22 in a non-conference game. The first pitch is set for 3:30 p.m. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
