CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College junior Ray Keelan (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending Apr. 26, the league announced Monday. Keelan batted .600 with four doubles, three home runs, 11 runs and 18 runs batted in as the Cougars went 5-1 last week.

Keelan racked up three hits in each of Caldwell's five wins, beginning with a three-game sweep of the University of the Sciences Friday and Saturday. He started the winning streak by going 3-for-5 with four RBI and a two-run double in an 18-7 victory on Friday. In Saturday's doubleheader with the Devils, Keelan was 6-for-9 with four runs and eight RBI, including a double and a three-run homer in the first game of the sweep. Then on Sunday against Bloomfield College, he helped Caldwell sweep another doubleheader with six hits, five runs and six RBI. In the second game with the Cougars trailing 5-1 in the top of the seventh, Keelan followed a three-run homer by senior Jorge Torres (Coral Springs, NJ/Taravella) with a solo shot to tie the score and send the game into extra innings. Then in the top of the eighth, he blasted a three-run home run in a six-run inning that gave Caldwell an 11-5 win.

Through 36 games this season, Keelan is batting .390 with 53 hits, eight home runs and 45 RBI to lead the Cougars and rank among the conference leaders in those categories.

Caldwell plays a non-conference game at Pace University on Wednesday, Apr. 29 in Pleasantville, N.Y.
