SAXON SELECTED CACC BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

N.J. - Caldwell College junior Adric Saxon (Coral Springs,
FL/Broward CC) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending Apr. 12, the league
announced Monday. Saxon helped the Cougars win all three of its
games last week, including a sweep of CACC foe Felician College on
Apr. 8.
In the first game of the doubleheader with Felician, Saxon belted a
walk-off home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth to lift
Caldwell to a 2-1 victory. He went 1-for-2 in the second game with a
run while driving in a run in a 10-3 win. Then in a 10-0 triumph at
Queens College on Apr. 9, Saxon had three hits, including a
three-run homer and a double, and five runs batted in. For the week,
Saxon batted .417 (5-for-12) with a double, two home runs and seven
RBI.
A two-time all-CACC and all-Region performer, Saxon is currently
batting .280 with three homers and 14 RBI. This is the first time
this season and the fourth time in his career that he has earned the
conference's top weekly honor.
Saxon and the Cougars face Felician in the third game of their CACC
season series on Tuesday, Apr. 14. The first pitch is set for 3:00
p.m. at Breslin Field in Lyndhurst, N.J.
