COUGARS WIN CALDWELL GOLF INVITATIONAL

ESSEX FELLS, N.J. - The Caldwell College golf team shot a team score of
333 to capture the Caldwell Invitational, held at Essex Fells Country
Club on Monday afternoon. Philadelphia University placed second with a
score of 362, and Chestnut Hill College took third with a 412. This is
the second tournament title this season for the Cougars, who won the
Holy Family Invitational on Oct. 9. Junior Chris Parker (Brick,
NJ/Brick Memorial) won the individual competition with a one-round score
of 78.
Freshman Brian Luyster (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills), right, finished right
behind Parker in second place with a 79. Fellow freshmen John DePeri
(Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic), Joe Vacca
(West Paterson, NJ/DePaul Catholic) and Rob Arena (Sparta,
NJ/Sparta) helped the Cougars take five of the top six spots, with
DePeri shooting an 87 and Vacca and Arena both posting an 89.
Philadelphia's P.J. O'Brien turned in an 86 to place third.
The Cougars travel to Philadelphia, Pa., to play in the Holy Family
Invitational on Wednesday, Apr. 9.
