CALDWELL GOLFERS TAKE SECOND AT HOLY FAMILY INVITATIONAL

PHILADELPHIA,
Pa. - The Caldwell College golf team finished in second place behind the
host Tigers at the Holy Family Invitational, held at the Torresdale-Frankford
Country Club Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars were led by freshman
John DePeri (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic), who shot an 83 to finish in
fifth place overall.
Caldwell posted a one-round total of 342, eight strokes behind Holy
Family's 334. Philadelphia University took third with a 379, followed by
Chestnut Hill College in fourth with 401.
Freshmen Brian Luyster (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) and Joe Vacca
(West Paterson, NJ/DePaul Catholic) tied for sixth with a score of 84,
while junior Chris Parker (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) shot a 91 to
take eighth. Freshman Rob Arena (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) rounded out
the Cougars' lineup with a 98.
The Cougars will compete in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
Championship next Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 14-15 at Back Creek Golf Club
in Middletown, Del. Caldwell is looking to improve upon its 10th-place
finish at last year's conference tournament.
