COUGAR GOLFERS TAKE SECOND AT USP TO COMPLETE SEASON

PHILADELPHIA,
Pa. - The Caldwell College golf team wrapped up its 2008 season with a
second-place finish at the University of the Sciences Invitational, held
at Island Green Country Club. The Cougars edged the host Devils for
second place with a one-round score of 334, while Goldey-Beacom College
took first after posting a team score of 322. Junior Chris Parker
(Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) led the way for Caldwell with an 82 to tie
for sixth place overall.
Freshmen Joe Vacca
(West Paterson, NJ/DePaul Catholic), pictured, and Brian Luyster
(Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) finished right behind Parker with identical
scores of 83, with John DePeri (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic)
turning in an 86. Freshman Rob Arena rounded out the Cougars'
lineup with a 94.
All five golfers will return in 2009 for Caldwell, which won two events
this season and finished seventh at the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference Championship earlier this week.
