GARCIA BATTLES RAIN IN SECOND ROUND OF NCAA GOLF REGIONAL

5-5-09
DANIELS, W.Va. - Caldwell College freshman Daniel Garcia (Guadalajara, Mexico/German School) was able to finish his second round at the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Golf Regional on Tuesday despite rain and a lightning delay at The Resort at Glades Springs. Garcia shot an 82 for the second straight day and is now 20-over par for the tournament.

Approximately half of the field was unable to tee off on Tuesday, as rain and lightning delayed play throughout the day. Garcia was on the 17th green when play was halted due to lightning. The front nine saw Garcia record six bogeys and three pars. He turned things around a bit over the final nine holes, with five pars and four bogeys. Garcia, who had three double-bogeys and two birdies in Monday's first round, had neither in today's second round.

Wednesday's third round tee times have yet to be announced, as several players have yet to begin their second round.
