CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's basketball team lost to Felician College, 78-66 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday night at the Newman Center. The loss dropped the Cougars to 9-12 on the season, including an 8-5 record in CACC play, while the Golden Falcons improved to 10-9, 7-5 in the conference.

The Cougars started out cold, making just 1-of-6 from the field as Felician built a 12-4 lead in the first four minutes of the game. But Caldwell battled back with a 26-14 run, topped off with a three from sophomore guard Nolan Hall (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) to take a 30-24 lead with 2:34 left in the half. The Golden Falcons then took control of the game by out-scoring Caldwell 15-2 to end the half. Craig Banton nailed three straight three-pointers as he scored 11 of Felician's points in the run to give his team a 39-32 advantage at the half.

Banton opened up the second half with another three to kick-start a 12-2 run in the first six minutes of the half as Felician led 51-34. Caldwell never got closer than 10 points, as the Golden Eagles led by as many as 23 points in the second half to cruise to its second win over the Cougars this season. Banton finished with 17 points, including five three-pointers, to lead Felician.

Caldwell was led by freshman forward Manny Perez (Egg Harbor, NJ/Egg Harbor), pictured, who was a perfect 16-of-16 from the free throw line en route to 24 points. He also paced the Cougars with seven rebounds. Senior guard Ron Harris (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) tallied 19 points and four steals in the loss.

The Cougars' next game is on Monday, Feb. 7, when they host Wilmington College at the Newman Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
