CRICELLI EARNS THIRD CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONOR

N.J. - Caldwell College freshman forward Sam Cricelli (Brighton,
England/Culham)
was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Men's Basketball
Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, the league announce today. Cricelli, who
was chosen the conference's Rookie of the Week on Dec. 18 and Jan. 2, earned the
award for the week ending Jan. 28 after averaging 21.5 points and 9.5
rebounds while making 66.7 percent of his field goal attempts in two
CACC victories.
Cricelli, a 6-7 forward, went 10-of-12 from the floor en route to 22
points and 12 rebounds in Caldwell's 83-74 win at Bloomfield College on
Jan. 24. He then tallied 21 points and seven boards in a 75-65 triumph
over the University of Sciences on Jan. 27. In the Cougars' current
three-game winning streak, Cricelli has averaged 23.0 points and 8.7
rebounds while shooting 71.4 percent from the field. He is averaging
11.6 points and a team-best 6.7 boards per contest in his first season
at Caldwell.
Also honored by the CACC this week was senior guard Jean Georges
(Vauxhal, NJ/Spotswood), who received honorable mention after averaging
23.5 points and 2.5 steals in the two wins last week.
The Cougars host Adelphi University of the East Coast Conference on
Tuesday, Jan. 30, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
