SUCHY NAMED CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

N.J. - Caldwell College junior forward B.J. Suchy (Ronkonkoma, NY/Our Savior)
was chosen as the first men's basketball Player of the Week of the
2006-07 season by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference for the
week ending Dec. 3, the league announce today. Suchy led the Cougars to
a perfect 3-0 week, highlighted by Suchy's game-winning three-pointer at
the buzzer that gave Caldwell a 74-71 victory over Bloomfield College on
Nov. 28.
A 6-foot-6 junior forward, Suchy averaged 18.7 points and 7.0 rebounds
per game while shooting 61.8 percent from the floor and 71.4 percent
from three-point range in the three victories. He finished the
Bloomfield game with 19 points and 11 rebounds for his second career
double-double. At this weekend's Commerce Bank Cougar Classic, hosted by
Caldwell, Suchy earned a spot on the all-Tournament team after totaling
37 points and 10 rebounds in two wins, including a career-high 21-point
performance in Sunday's finale, a 65-54 win over Dowling College. He
also had 16 points and six rebounds in a 69-58 victory against Mercy
College on Saturday.
For the season, Suchy is averaging 16.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game
while shooting 61.7 percent from the floor and a sizzling 80.0 percent
from three-point range.
Suchy and the Cougars are back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 5, when they
host Felician College in a CACC contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00
p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.
