SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Caldwell College senior forward Manny Perez (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) played for the East squad in the National Association of Basketball Coaches/NCAA Division II All-Star Game Friday night at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. Perez scored eight points and had three rebounds as the West defeated the East, 138-117.

Perez was one of just 20 players in all of Division II to be invited to play in the All-Star Game, which includes players from all eight regions. One of Perez's East All-Star teammates was Bloomfield College's Omari Knox, who was the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Player of the Year this past season. The All-Star Game was played the day before the NCAA Division II championship game is to be played.

Perez, a 6-foot-7 forward, completed his career at Caldwell with 1,859 points to rank second on the Cougars' all-time scoring list. He also holds the school record for most free throws made (567) while ranking third in field goals (639) and fifth in blocks (60) in the program's history. This past season, Perez averaged a team-leading 18.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game en route to earning first team all-CACC and second team Daktronics all-East Region honors. He led the conference in field goal percentage (.577) while ranking third in scoring and fourth in rebounding.

A four-time all-CACC honoree, Perez is the first Caldwell College men's basketball player to play in the NABC/NCAA Division II All-Star Game.
