Additionally, sophomore defender Asgeir Ofstad (Trondheim, Norway), left, was chosen the CACC's Newcomer of the Year. Making the first team from Caldwell were juniors Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) and Jorge Ibarcena (Lima, Peru) and sophomore defender Andrew Fraser (Kingston, Jamaica/Wolmer's). Dauti, a forward who was just named the conference's Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 31, leads the Cougars in scoring with 15 goals and two assists for 32 points. Dauti, who notched his second hat trick of the season in last Saturday's 6-1 win over Concordia College, currently ranks second in the CACC in goals and points.

Ibarcena, a midfielder who was an all-CACC second team honoree in 2004, has two goals and two assists for six points on the season. He scored goals in wins over Molloy and Concordia, and also tallied the assist on Dauti's goal against league-leading Dominican.

Fraser also was on the all-CACC second team in 2004. A valuable defender for the Cougars, Fraser tallied game-winning goals against Holy Family and Nyack to help Caldwell turn in a record of 7-1 in conference play.

Ofstad had an outstanding debut season for the Cougars, spearheading a defense that allowed just seven goals in eight conference games. He is joined on the second team by junior forward Bard Skjelstad (Bodo, Norway) and sophomore defender Jan Marco Jiras (Lima, Peru). Skjelstad, an all-CACC first team and all-New England Region second team selection in 2004, recorded 20 points on six goals and eight assists. Jiras has two goals and one assist, including the game-winner against Molloy. Senior midfielder Chris Parshelunis (Brick, NJ/St. Rose), who has two goals and three assists this season, received all-conference honorable mention.

The Cougars (11-4-1) play Felician College in the semifinals of the CACC Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Tryon Field in Rutherford, N.J. The winner advances to the title game on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2:00 p.m.
