THREE COUGARS NAMED ALL-REGION12-12-05
CALDWELL, N.J. - A trio of Caldwell College men's soccer players was named to
the NSCAA/adidas All-New England Region teams, the organization announced. Junior forward Uke Dauti
(West Orange, NJ/West Orange) and sophomore defender Andrew Fraser (Kingston, Jamaica/Wolmer's)
were selected to the second team, and sophomore defender Asgeir Ofstad
(Trondheim, Norway) made the third team. Prior to this season, only four
Caldwell College men's soccer players had received all-Region honors
from the NSCAA in the program's history.
Dauti led the team in scoring with 16 goals and three assists for 35
points in 15 games. The first team all-Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference selection ranked second in the conference in points and
goals while ranking seventh in goals per game (1.07) and eighth in
points per game (2.33) among all NCAA Division II players. Dauti, who
notched a team-best five game-winning goals, scored two or more goals
in four games this season, including two hat tricks.
Ofstad made an immediate impact in his first season with the Cougars
en route to being named the CACC Newcomer of the Year. Ofstad's strong
play on the Cougars' back line helped the defense record four shutouts
and a goals-against average of 1.29. He also tallied a pair of
assists. |
