DAUTI HELPS MEN'S SOCCER END REGULAR SEASON WITH A VICTORY

CALDWELL, N.J. - Junior forward Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange), left, recorded his second hat trick of the season as the Caldwell College men's soccer team defeated Concordia College 6-1 in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Caldwell Field. With the win, their fourth in a row, the Cougars end the regular season with an overall record of 11-4-1 heading into next week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament. The Clippers fell to 1-9.

Junior midfielder Jorge Ibarcena (Lima, Peru) gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute, when he collected a pass from sophomore midfielder Nicholas Harriott (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Campion) and buried a shot from 20 yards out. The Clippers tied the game up in the 34th minute on a goal by Jay Bailey-Robinson. But Dauti helped the Cougars regain control of the game with a pair of goals just two minutes, 16 seconds apart. Harriott and sophomore defender Andrew Fraser (Kingston, Jamaica/Wolmer's) set up Dauti's first goal in the 36th minute. Then freshman midfielder Kevoi Walters (Clarendon, Jamaica/Clarendon) one-touched a pass from junior midfielder Miguel Walker (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Wolmer's) to Dauti, who beat goalkeeper Juan Rodriguez in the 39th minute. Senior defender Daouda Sissokho (Bayonne, NJ/St. Peter's), right, one of three seniors playing in their final home game, knocked in  a loose ball off a corner kick to give the Cougars a 4-1 halftime lead.

Dauti completed his hat trick in the 78th minute off an assist from junior defender Gary Mullings (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica/Munroe). Dauti now has a team-best 15 goals this season. Freshman forward Chad Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion) notched his second goal of the season in the 86th minute to close out the scoring.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Turdo (West Paterson, NJ/Passaic Valley) made one save in his last game at Caldwell Field, while classmate Saah Hali (Teaneck, NJ/Teaneck), left, also played his final home game. Senior midfielder Chris Parshelunis (Brick, NJ/St. Rose) was unable to play due to injury.

The Cougars received the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the CACC Tournament after compiling a 7-1 mark in conference play. They will play either third-seeded Felician College or sixth-seeded Wilmington College on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Tryon Field in Rutherford, N.J.
