DAUTI, BENNETT EARN CACC WEEKLY HONORS

11-1-05
CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College junior forward Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 30, the conference announced yesterday. Also, freshman forward Chad Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion) was chosen CACC Rookie of the Week. The duo helped the Cougars win both of their games last week to improve to 11-4-1 on the season.

Dauti, left, tallied five goals in the two games to increase his team-leading total to 15 goals on the season. In Monday's 2-0 win over conference foe Post University, Dauti scored an unassisted goal in the 15th minute and converted a penalty kick just before time expired in the second half. Then in the Cougars' 6-1 victory over Concordia College in the regular-season finale, Dauti notched his second hat trick of the season to help Caldwell win its fourth straight game.

Bennett, right, scored his second goal of the season in the second half of the victory over Concordia.

The Cougars, who went 7-1 in the CACC, earned the No. 2 seed in this week's CACC Tournament. Caldwell will play either third-seeded Felician College or sixth-seeded Wilmington College on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:00 p.m. at Tryon Field in Rutherford, N.J.
