10-1-05

box score

WILMINGTON, Del. - A goal by junior forward Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange), pictured, in the second minute of the game was all that was needed to give the Caldwell College men's soccer team a 1-0 victory at Goldey-Beacom College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday afternoon. The win keeps the Cougars unbeaten in the conference with a perfect 5-0 record while improving their overall mark to 6-2-1.

The game's lone goal came off of a free kick from the left side by senior midfielder Chris Parshelunis (Brick, NJ/St. Rose). Parshelunis sent the ball to the far post, where Dauti directed the ball into the goal with his shoulder for his fifth goal of the season.

Senior goalkeeper Mike Turdo (West Paterson, NJ/Passaic Valley) made four saves for his second shutout of the year.

The Cougars play host to Molloy College in a non-conference game on Thursday, Oct. 6. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
