ST. ANSELM UPENDS COUGARS IN OVERTIME9-5-05
The
Cougars got on the scoreboard first when junior forward Uke Dauti
(West Orange, NJ/West Orange), pictured, was taken down in the Hawks' penalty
area in the 20th minute. Junior forward Bard Skjelstad (Bodo,
Norway) converted the penalty kick for a 1-0 lead. Freshman midfielder
Kevoi Walters (Clarendon, Jamaica/Clarendon) nearly put
Caldwell up 2-0 in the 26th minute, when his shot from 12 yards out
hit the right post. Then shortly after halftime, Skjelstad stole the
ball from a Hawks' defender and sent a pass to Dauti, who beat St.
Anselm goalkeeper Scott Johnson to his left.
Turdo made four saves for Caldwell while Johnson collected eight saves for the Hawks.
The Cougars return to action on Thursday, Sept. 8, when they host ninth-ranked Franklin Pierce College at 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
