DAUTI, OFSTAD RECEIVE NSCAA ALL-REGION HONORS
12-6-06
CALDWELL,
N.J. - Senior forward Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) and
sophomore defender Asgeir Ofstad (Trondheim, Norway) were named to
the 2006 NSCAA/adidas all-New England Region second team, the association
announced. The all-Region teams were chosen by the head coaches in the New
England Region, which includes teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference and the Northeast 10 Conference. This is the second all-region
honor for Dauti and Ofstad this year, as both were selected to the
Daktronics all-New England team last month.
Dauti led the team in scoring for the second straight year, tallying
12 goals and four assists for 28 points in 19 games. A two-time all-Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference
first team selection and a NSCAA all-New England Region second team choice in 2005, Dauti
tallied three multi-goal games and two game-winning goals this
season. He also scored the game-tying goal in the Cougars' CACC
Tournament quarterfinal victory over Holy Family University on Oct. 24. For his
career, Dauti totaled 31 goals and seven assists for 69 points
in 53 games at Caldwell.
Ofstad is the leader of a backline that has allowed just 17 goals in
19 games this season. A 2006 first team all-CACC selection and last year's CACC
Newcomer of the Year, Ofstad scored his first
collegiate goal this year and totaled two goals and two assists. He
assisted on the game-winning goal by junior midfielder Nicholas
Harriott (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Campion) in the quarterfinal win
over Holy Family.
The Cougars finished the 2006 season with a record of 12-6-1, marking the
third year in a row that the team won at least 12 games.
