CALDWELL, N.J. - Post University's Kafoumba Cisse scored with just
three seconds remaining in regulation to give the Eagles a 1-0
victory over the Caldwell College men's soccer team in a Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon at Caldwell
Field. The Cougars are now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference,
while Post improves to 2-2-1, 2-0 CACC.
The only goal of the game came when Raleigh Woodson received a pass
from Johan Pineda that sent him in alone on Caldwell sophomore
goalkeeper John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ/Kearny). Plaugic came off
his line and made a save on Woodson's shot, but the ball continued
towards the Cougars' goal. Cisse chased down the ball and tipped it
in the goal just before time expired.
The Cougars dominated possession and held a 21-6 advantage in shots
but were unable to get on the scoreboard. The closest Caldwell came
to scoring was in the 62nd minute, when a shot by senior forward
Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) was cleared off the goal
line by a Post defender.
Plaugic finished with two saves for the Cougars, while Post's Dan
Nadel recorded seven saves for the shutout.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 12, when they play at
C.W. Post University in a non-conference match. Game time is
scheduled for 4:00 p.m. in Brookville, N.Y.
