BENNETT NAMED CACC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College junior forward Chad Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 16, the league announced today. Bennett, who shares the award with Wilmington's Sargbah Tarpeh, had two goals in a pair of victories last week.
 
Bennett scored the game-winning goal 55 seconds into overtime in the Cougars' 2-1 victory over Molloy on Sept. 13. He also scored in Caldwell's 3-0 win over Chestnut Hill College in Caldwell's first CACC contest.

Bennett follows fellow junior forward Luis Sartorio (Asuncion, Paraguay/St. Benedict's Prep) as Cougars who have received weekly honors from the conference. Sartorio, who was named CACC Player of the Week on Sept. 10, and Bennett lead the team in scoring with four goals apiece this season. A second team all-CACC honoree last year, Bennett earned Player of the Week honors twice in 2006.

Bennett and the Cougars host Bloomfield College on Tuesday, Sept. 18 in a CACC match. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
