MEN'S SOCCER GAME POSTPONED DUE TO LIGHTNING

Aug. 30, 2007 - The Caldwell College men's soccer season opener at No. 24 Franklin Pierce University was postponed after one half of play due to lightning. The teams played a scoreless first half before lightning in the area forced the officials to call the game. Because the game did not reach the 70-minute mark, it is ruled a no-contest by NCAA rules. The teams will attempt to reschedule the game at a later date. The Cougars continue play at the Franklin Pierce Labor Day Classic on Saturday, Sept. 1 against 17th-ranked Bridgeport at 4:30 p.m.
