PLAUGIC RECEIVES CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College junior goalkeeper John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) was selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 14, the league announced Monday. Plaugic did not allow a goal in two road wins for the Cougars last week.
 
In a 2-0 non-conference win over American International College on Oct. 8, Plaugic recorded a career-high eight saves. He then stopped four shots in a 3-0 victory over CACC foe Nyack College on Oct. 11. The back-to-back shutouts give him six on the season and 10 in his career.

Plaugic is tied for first in the CACC in shutouts and is second in goals against average at 0.87. He has allowed more than one goal a game only twice in helping the Cougars to an 8-3-3 overall record this season.

Plaugic and the Cougars host LeMoyne College on Tuesday, Oct. 16 in a non-conference match. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
