COSTA CHOSEN CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

CALDWELL, N.J. - Caldwell College freshman forward Jonathan Costa
(Mississauga, Ontario/Philip Pocock) was named the Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Aug.
31, the league announced today. Costa helped the Cougars begin the
2008 season with a split of a pair of games in New Hampshire this
past weekend.
With the Cougars trailing St. Anselm College 1-0 on Thursday, Costa
collected a loose ball near the Hawks' penalty area and blasted a
shot from 18 yards out for his first collegiate goal. The goal
sparked the Cougars' comeback, which culminated in the game-winning
goal from senior defender Kagiso Rhenoster (Mafikeng, South
Africa/Mmbatho) in the 74th minute. Costa also started in Caldwell's
3-0 loss to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday.
Costa and the Cougars return to action this weekend at the
University of Bridgeport Tournament. Caldwell plays the host Purple
Knights on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7:00 p.m., before facing Briarcliffe
College on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 2:30 p.m.
