PHILADELPHIA DEFEATS COUGARS IN MEN'S TENNIS

PHILADELPHIA,
Pa. - The Caldwell College tennis team dropped a 7-2 dual to Philadelphia
University Tuesday afternoon at Philadelphia's Main Campus Courts. The defeat
gives the Cougars an 0-3 record on the season, while the Rams improve to 6-7.
Sophomore Jan Marco Jiras (Lima, Peru) won his second match of the
season with a three-set victory over Skylar Tibbits at No. 5 singles. Jiras
outlasted Tibbits 6-2, 4-6, 10-2 to improve to 2-1 in singles this season. He
won at No. 2 doubles, partnering with sophomore Amir Zandieh (Tehran,
Iran/Montville) to defeat Alex Richter and Viet Trinh, 8-6.
The Cougars play at Adelphi University on Wednesday, Apr. 5, beginning at 3:30
p.m. Caldwell opens its home schedule on Thursday, Apr. 6, with a match
against Bloomfield College at 5:00 p.m.
