MEN'S TENNIS SHUTS OUT POST, 9-0

WATERBURY,
Conn. - The Caldwell College men's tennis team defeated Post University 9-0
in a dual Tuesday afternoon at Holy Cross High School. Senior Marcus
Collins (Brooklyn, NY/Cobble Hill) won his match at No. 3 singles over
Dan Nadel to help the Cougars improve to 4-3 on the season.
Seniors Chris Costa (Montville, NJ/DePaul Catholic) and Chris
Laciura (Teaneck, NJ/Paramus Catholic) and junior Jan Marco Jiras
(Lima, Peru) each earned straight-set victories at first, second and third
singles, respectively. Collins and sophomores Mike Ober (Lavallette,
NJ/Point Beach) and Thane McKenzie (Kingston, Jamaica/Wolmer's) won
their matches in pro sets to complete the sweep of the singles matches. In
doubles, Costa and Laciura, Jiras and junior Amir Zandieh (Tehran,
Iran/Montville), and Ober and McKenzie combined to lose just four games in
winning all three matches.
The Cougars return to the court on Thursday, Apr. 26, when they play at East
Stroudsburg University beginning at 3:00 p.m.
