COUGAR SOFTBALL RANKED 12TH IN NATION
4-20-05
CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College softball team is tied for 12th
in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II poll,
released today. The Cougars (24-7), who are tied with Cal
State-Dominguez Hills with 99 points, moved up from 17th in the poll,
which is released bi-weekly.
Over the past two weeks the Cougars, coached by Dean Johnson,
went 15-3, including wins over regionally-ranked Dowling and Adelphi
and a 7-1 record against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
opponents. A loss to Adelphi on Apr. 17 ended the Cougars' 13-game
winning streak, their longest of the season. Yesterday, Caldwell split
a doubleheader with C.W. Post, who is ranked 21st in the NFCA national
poll.
The Cougars host Felician College in a CACC doubleheader on Thursday,
Apr. 21 at Caldwell Field. Game one is set to start at 3:00 p.m.
