SOFTBALL MOVES UP TO 11TH IN NFCA POLL

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College softball team moved up one spot
to No. 11
in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division II poll,
released May 4. The Cougars (35-8), who were tied for 12th in the Apr.
20 poll, are also ranked second in the Northeast Region rankings
behind No. 18 C.W. Post.
Over the past two weeks the Cougars, coached by Dean Johnson,
went 11-1 and clinched their second straight Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference regular-season title with a final league record
of 18-2. Caldwell heads into this weekend's CACC Tournament as the No.
1 seed and riding a 10-game winning streak.
The CACC Tournament, which will be held at Caldwell College, begins
Thursday, May 5, with the Cougars playing at 2:00 p.m. against the
winner of the Post/Goldey-Beacom match-up.
