D'AMICO, DAHL NAMED CACC SOFTBALL PLAYER, PITCHER OF THE WEEK

N.J. - Junior Gina D'Amico
(Turnersville, NJ/Washington Twp) and sophomore Anna Dahl
(Lindenwold, NJ/Camden Catholic) were named the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference's Player and co-Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for
softball, the conference announced. D'Amico and Dahl helped the Cougars go
7-1 last week, including 4-0 in the CACC.
D'Amico (left), the Cougars' shortstop, went 9-for-18
(.500) with five doubles, one home run, three runs scored and five RBI
in seven games. In four games against
regionally-ranked
Dowling College and Adelphi University, D'Amico was 6-for-10 at the
plate with three doubles and a home run. Her performance last week
raised her batting average from .219 to .320. In her last 13 games,
D'Amico is 16-for-32 (.500).
Dahl (9-2), right, went 3-0 in three starts, including a one-hit
shutout against Dowling, while recording a save in relief. She allowed
just one earned run and 11 hits while striking out 20 in 23.0 innings.
Dahl was also a standout at the plate last week, batting .360 with two
homers, a double, a triple and 10 RBI.
This week the Cougars (23-6) play home games against C.W. Post on
Tuesday, Felician on Thursday, Queens College on Friday and
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday.
