With one out and the bases loaded, sophomore Carrie Flasphaler (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) knocked home two runs with a single. Sophomore Alyssa Speno followed with a grounder to second that scored junior Jackie Velardi (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) from third to put the Cougars up 7-0. D'Amico put the finishing touches on the victory with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.

Senior pitcher Jessica Saunders (Glen Burnie, MD/Archbishop Spaulding) pitched four shutout innings, allowing just two singles while striking out two to improve to 8-5. Freshman Ceci Goforth (Houston, TX/St. Agnes Academy) pitched a perfect fifth inning to preserve the five-inning win.

In the second game, D'Amico again drove home the Cougars' first run with a single in the third inning. Junior Anna Dahl (Lindenwold, NJ/Camden Catholic), who doubled in the first game, led off the bottom of the fourth inning with her second home run of the season. D'Amico made it 3-0 with another RBI single in the fifth. Amanda Mucaria plated Wilmington's lone run of the day in the top of the sixth with an RBI single. But the Cougars answered with two runs in the sixth. This time is was Dahl's turn to give the Cougars a stellar pitching performance. Dahl (8-4) gave up just three hits and one unearned run while fanning six in seven innings pitched.
