GENOVESE SELECTED CACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CALDWELL, N.J. - Freshman Danielle Genovese (Livingston,
NJ/Livingston) was named the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Player of the Week for the
week ending Apr. 1, the league announced today. Genovese hit .514 with eight
runs batted in, 10 runs scored, two home runs, two triples and two doubles
to help the 14th-ranked Cougars go 7-3 for the week.
In a sweep of a CACC doubleheader at Nyack College on Mar. 27, Genovese went
6 for 7 at the plate with a homer, a double and a triple. She also was 3 for
4 with three runs and a triple in a 14-2 win over Goldey-Beacom College on
Mar. 30. Yesterday, Genovese hit a home run and went 3 for 4 to lead the
Cougars to an 8-2 win over the University of New Haven. For the week,
Genovese had five three-hit games while recording a slugging percentage of
.838. She currently leads Caldwell in batting (.477), hits (31), runs scored (16),
doubles (five) and triples (three) in her first collegiate season.
Genovese and the Cougars (14-6 overall, 6-2 CACC) return to action on
Tuesday, Apr. 3 against Holy Family University. The CACC doubleheader begins
at 3:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
