WEBB CHOSEN CACC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Caldwell College senior Nicole Webb (Toms River, NJ/Manchester Twp.) was named the
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the
week ending Apr. 9, the league announced today. Webb won all three of her
starts last week to help the Cougars, ranked 12th nationally, improve to
18-6 on the season.
Webb pitched 21.0 innings in three starts, including two extra-inning games,
striking out 17 while allowing three earned runs. In the second game of a
doubleheader sweep of Holy Family University on Apr. 3, Webb gave up seven
hits and an unearned run in eight innings as Caldwell won 7-1 in extra
innings. After surrendering only two hits and one run over four innings in a
9-3 victory in Game 1 over Queens College on Apr. 5, Webb pitched all nine
innings in Caldwell's 8-7 come-from-behind win in Game 2. In the two games
against Queens combined, she gave up 11 hits and three earned runs while
striking out 11 in 13.0 innings.
With the sweep of Queens, Webb improved to a team-best 9-4 on the season.
This is her second CACC Pitcher of the Week award this year, having received
the honor on Mar. 19.
Webb and the Cougars host a CACC doubleheader against Bloomfield College on
Tuesday, Apr. 10. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Caldwell
Field.
